Michael

Hi there.

My name's Michael and I am currently 26 year old. I consider myself a globetrotter, since for the last 6 years I have been living across different cities, countries and continents quite a lot. Each and every time was a new adventure and broadened my horizon.

I try to use these experiences every day, be it at Business School during my Masters degree or whenever I am intellectually challenged. I like photography and video shooting and editing, am a geek at heart and love to read about consumer electronics. However my focus is often more on the company's side, as to questions such as: why did they do it? couldn't they have done better? what strategy are they pursuing?

In the end that was also the reason why I decided to found "the lens". While there are many blogs and sites out there looking at products, only few try to look behind companies actions. But only when one understands a company's situation will their product strategy become clearer. At least this is my personal belief and I hope to show you just what exactly I mean in the coming months.

So this is us...

It's now been a full week since we launched the Lens UK. We had a lot more traffic than we expected and received some really positive feedback from you guys. Thanks so much. But one thing we didn't have is a proper introduction of ourselves, "The Lens UK" and the story how it came to be. So sit and back and get to know us.

The Green Half-Truth

Apple has not been shy to point out the environmental friendliness of their products in recent years. Tim Cook's latest keynote is just one out of many recent examples. Overall the concept of Green seems to have moved up from being of no interest to companies to a widely discussed phenomenon across all industries. If companies such as Apple, which arguably range at the spearhead of consumer electronics, now decide to invest more money and attention to environmentally friendly products that is a good thing right?
